Yes the mountains and hills and access to them are a key part of outdoor peoples' activity, work and recreation yet no mention of them.

I have written comments on many of the actions as part of my comments on the individual parts on People, Nature and Place. It would have been much more coherent and easier to comment if these actions had been added to the individual objectives.

These actions are only a basic set of actions. If CNPA really wants to achieve all the objectives then this action list is very incomplete.

C8 - You need to include much more widespread use of the Rural Housing Burden, applied to both existing housing stock and new developments. Homes are then protected for local communities in perpetuity, and are more affordable. C9 - I would also suggest you need to be looking at a much wider range of tenures than just social- or mid-market rent. There are so many options existing, and a mix could be applied, of both discounted rental and sale options. This mix gives far more flexibility to residents, based on their financial requirements/resources (without forcing outward migration) and with changing circumstances over a longer period of time.

Yes: 1. Add creation of woodland crofts, which work with nature and provide low-impact land-based livelihoods 2. Add creation of micro-spaces (or small/flexible spaces) for businesses, to support small, independent businesses who currently are unable to compete with astromonical rents.

Much more acknowledgement of the role of the private investor - what has the CNPA done in Braemar in pursuit of these objectives?

Expanding the Cairngorms woodland cover by 7000ha in the next 5 years will be essential and we would ask that in line with the current coverage of woodland across the Cairngorms the majority of this woodland would be native. We also agree with the action to ensure existing woodlands are managed for a range of benefits and would hope that woodland restoration particularly that of ancient woodlands would sit in that management as it is of huge benefit to biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. Furthermore, as a part of the action A7 to develop nature friendly farming projects, developing exemplars of agroforestry would be hugely beneficial.
